8.3. Total width of stairs, walkways on means of egress of dwellings, dependent on number of occupants on the most crowded storey other than the first storey, shall be:

- In respect of two-storey dwellings: 1,00 m in width for 125 occupants;

- In respect of three-storey dwellings or higher: 1,00 m in width for 100 occupants;

- If the number of occupants on the most crowded storey is below 125 occupants (in case of two-storey dwellings) or below 100 occupants (in case of three-storey dwellings or higher), the total width shall equal 0,9 m.

8.4 Width of each stringer on means of egress shall be equal to or greater than minimum width of stairs. Slope degree shall be lower than the maximum degree in Schedule 3.

8.5. Automatic fire alarm system shall be implemented if necessary.

8.6. In addition, dwelling design shall also conform to regulations on fire safety of buildings and constructions [5] and TCVN 2622.
